ooh, thanks for the link to the pumpkin spice syrup recipe! Definitely going to try it! I'm a Seattleite who is NOT too good for the 'Bux, but I have to say, the ONE time I had a pumpkin spice latte, I couldn't choke the cloying thing down. Every fall I look at the sign wistfully because it sounds like such a good idea - it's definitely time for some home experimentation!

And that pasta recipe is so like one I grew up eating (though I think ours was even cheaper/faster): my mother would boil pasta, throw in a bag of frozen peas in the last minute or two of cooking, and then little chunks of ham for a few seconds to warm them through. She'd drain everything and return it to the pan, topping it with a splash of half-and-half, a grating of parmesan cheese and the all-important shot of ground nutmeg along with black pepper. Gotta love that comfort food!
