And that pasta recipe is so like one I grew up eating (though I think ours was even cheaper/faster): my mother would boil pasta, throw in a bag of frozen peas in the last minute or two of cooking, and then little chunks of ham for a few seconds to warm them through. She'd drain everything and return it to the pan, topping it with a splash of half-and-half, a grating of parmesan cheese and the all-important shot of ground nutmeg along with black pepper. Gotta love that comfort food!
