giveaway!

While packing to move, I ran across an extra, unopened copy of The Devil Wears Prada DVD. I've been trying to plan the best sort of giveaway, but finally I've decided: all you have to do is post a comment or email me (vdoprincessATgmailDOTcom) telling me why you should get it. I'll go through and judge them, and if I'm really in a quandary I'll just do a drawing. This is my thank-you to everyone for sticking with me through this move and the ensuing sporadic posting. So go ahead: tell me. Why should you have the wonderfulness that is Anne Hathaway for your veryvery own?

Deadline is August 17. Don't worry about contact info at this point; we'll get that sorted when we pick a winner.

Have a good weekend!

oh me, oh my. you are my fairy god mother. i can't believe this, i just put this on my birthday wish list. i love this movie not only because i am a full fledged believer in fashion, makeup, and magazine design makeovers...

but i believe in staying true to yourself and remembering that it's what is on the inside that counts the most. i love that this movie touches on both issues.

after watching it, i always want to be a better person (and own a Prada bag to fling on my desk!) there is something to be said about dressing to kill. you take yourself more seriously and others do too. you gotta believe in yourself to succeed.

good luck with all of your big plans. am excited for you!

You are just finishing up the moving business and I am about to begin all of it! Dan and I are going to move to Seattle from Syracuse a day or two after we get back from our honeymoon in the beginning of October!

I definitely need more things to pack and find space for. Plus I have to counterbalance Dan's collection of Arnold movies and Lord of the Rings with something wonderful! Plus, he really liked this movie- so not only would it be a present for me but for him as well. Two for the price of one.

And if you wanted to you could always consider the DVD as a wedding present to a friend that you've only known online!

While there are two exceptionally nice readers who have already given you an ample number of reasons why they should received said film, I must add that I would be the most eternally grateful because I've never had a chance to actually view this movie to begin with. All my close friends have told me that I need to see it, especially after working for 3 years in the costume shop in college under a man who was an absolute HORROR and kept me on my toes just like Anna Hathaway in 'The Devil Wears Prada.' I escaped, in the end, with three beautifully designed theatre productions under my belt, loads of experience and a degree in Costume Design... but my life was forever changed from the time I spent running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, trying to do 8 million and one things (perfectly) in about 2.5 seconds. I would love the chance to sit down on my sofa with a cup of tea and watch Anna Hathaway have these similar experiences, be able to relate to her, and rest comfortably knowing that that period of my life is, thankfully, over.

Also having just moved (like you), I would love a good excuse to give me a reprieve from unpacking multitudes of boxes.

That is an awesome movie! Even my husband loved it - which really surprised me. I think you should give it to him ;)

Haha, I can't beat those. All I can say is... I saw that movie with my best friend, and I think of her every time I see anything "Devil Wears Prada"-related. I miss her a lot.

Ooh, can I squeeze in at the last moment?! (It's 12:23 am EST on August 17.) :)

This movie was so encouraging for me (besides wonderfully entertaining with a couple of my favourit-ish actresses). I'm a freelance writer and magazine junkie and so there was MUCH I could relate to in this film... not the least of them being the fact that I often feel like Anne Hathaway's character before her makeover. :)

I would be pleased to no end if I was able to own a copy of this film. Thanks for considering my proposal! ;)
