goes perfectly with grilled burgers and chicken
(Or: what we ate on memorial day. With recipes where available.)
The classic veggie tray to munch on while grilling. Yes, I totally served the dip in the container. I'm just that lame.
broccoli mac and cheese. So easy, and very yummy. And since you keep it in the crockpot, you don't have to worry about keeping it warm.
southwestern pasta salad. No mayo, so no worries about keeping it at room temperature. Very tasty, and pretty healthy. You could make this with whole wheat pasta and it would still taste fab.
balsamic green beans. Tasty and crispy. Also pretty garlicy, so watch that.
These sesame noodles are a favorite of my husbands, and he requests them at every opportunity. I throw shrimp in for protein, and he loves them. Recipe from this book.
Mississippi mud cupcakes are a chocolate cupcake with top and bottom layers of crushed oreos and some chocolate chips thrown in for good measure. Very rich, and three dozen were gone by the end of the evening. Recipe from here.
This wasn't everything we had; other people brought some things. We also had "build your own ice cream sundae" for dessert, and all the guests brought their favorite topping. All in all, we had a total blast, and I'm so glad we finally have a yarn large enough for a volleyball net.
